IIT still has Kaafi choices
IITs 24X7 adda, the Nescafe stall, may have been recently demolished, but then it is giving way to some big brands! We have received quotations from companies like Barista, Caf Coffee Day (CCD) and Costa Coffee. And, we are discussing the options with the students too, says Shashi Mathur, head, civil department, IIT. And till that happens, you can always chill out at the Youth Caf here. But, things wont be the same, feels Prateek Rathore, a student. He says, We have shared some good moments at Nescafe and were going to miss that, especially the open ground there. Sanchit Garg, another student, feels otherwise, A branded coffee shop would be bigger and better. Says Vishal Kapoor, head marketing, Barista, We already have an outlet at SDA market, opposite the campus. We arent really interested in opening another outlet in the area. But according to Alok Gupta, director, CCD, Students form a major part of our clientele and we have always enjoyed a good response at educational institutes.
